1.- What kind of presentation does red Maradol papaya seed have?

The certified seed of red maradol papaya is manufactured on 50-gram can of seeds.

Normally, 100 grams of seeds per hectare. However, it all depends on the growing design, plantlets' transplanting and management strategies.

4.- What is the percentage of red Maradol papaya seed's germination?

The minimum percentage of guaranteed germination is 70%. When the methodology of pre-germination is applied correctly, it is possible to achieve 80 or 85% of germination.

5. How resistant is the seed to diseases?

The seed is produced under certain conditions free from viruses and according to some studies, virus is not transmitted by seeds. However, seeds are not resistant to papaya ringspot virus.

The seed guarantees a minimum 70% of germination, 99% of genetic purity and an 2200 seed average per 50 grams.


7. How must the seed be kept?

The seed of papaya is very sensitive to climate and humidity changes conditions that is why it is advisable to purchase seeds when tree nursery and soil are ready to begin with works in the field. If not sowed immediately, seeds must be placed on the bottom shelf of a refrigerator, but they have to be put into plastic bags in order not to be affected by humidity. In both cases, seeds should not be kept for more than a month under these conditions.
